The Solo Tabletop Oracle was the first resource I ever created. It started as a custom oracle I was using for my personal games and quickly became something worth sharing. The one-page oracle was my first ever experience with any sort of desktop publishing, layout, and general design. It took a lot longer than it should have, but I was proud of what I had created.

Almost a full year later, I've learned a bit more about desktop publishing and saw a ton of things I'd like to improve. The final push to update the whole oracle came when I decided to update the GEMulator.

UPDATE: After feedback from people who aren't colorblind, I've actually changed the background and general color scheme again. These previews are outdated but I'll keep them here as a record of how things changed.

Update Sneak Peek

In a similar story, the GEMulator was one of the first projects I ever worked on. It had no interior artwork, spelling and rules mistakes, inconsistent layout, and probably a lot more issues I haven't even discovered yet. The positive feedback convinced me that the GEMulator deserved better. I started working on a complete layout overhaul while also fixing any mistakes I found.

Update Sneak Peek

The oracle sheet is a vital part of the emulation, and it needed a similar overhaul. The core content stayed mostly the same. I only removed a bit from the tables on the right side, as I needed the space, and they felt unnecessary. The color scheme was chosen to fit with the rest of the new GEMulator version.

Update Sneak Peek

Since a lot of people (myself included) prefer to print things out, I've also created a low-ink printer-friendly version. I plan to do that with all the GEMulator play sheets while also creating form-fillable versions for people who prefer digital play.

The GEMulator V1.1 update releases before the end of the year.

The Solo Tabletop Oracle

Color Variant 1 Practically every solo session I play, I utilize at least one oracle for inspiration or to fill any story gaps that need answers. Oftentimes, they are the driving narrative factor and influence much more than the game system itself. I have a binder with printed oracles from a variety of different sources that get regular use. All of them have aspects I like, but none of them are exactly  what I want. Having to shuffle through all these oracles can get quite cumbersome, and I wanted a better solution. In the end, I wrote my own oracle that gave me all the information I wanted on a single A4 sheet. I would love to hear your stories and feedback if you use it in your own gaming sessions. Update December 2023 As part of the GEMulator V1.1 update, I've also updated my main oracle sheet. ( more details ) Don't worry, the old version is still available at the download links below.
